CANE HILL HARVEST FESTIVAL
September 20-21, 2008    

FREE ADMISSION AND ENTERTAINMENT

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES:

7:00 A.M. TO 10:00 A.M. - All-you-can-eat country breakfast             
Menu: Bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, gravy, biscuits home made
apple butter.  ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT!!

SATURDAY PARADE AT 10 A.M.       
Featuring antique vehicles including a 4-hitch mule team                         
pulling an authentic stagecoach courtesy of Rodeo of the                         
Ozarks and Garrett Lewis, Chief Meteorologist, Channel 5 KFSM.

The parade is greatly expanded this year with a new parade route to be
announced.   The new Ms. Cane Hill Harvest Festival will have a special
float in the parade.  There will be antique cars and tractors, equines and
many other sights to delight parade watchers.

Kids are invited to ride their bikes with Garrett Lewis in the parade.  
There will be a prize for the best decorated bike.

We are very excited about the addition of a "LITTLE RED WAGON"
section in the parade.  Small children are invited (along with parents) to
decorate their little red wagons and enter the parade contest.  PRIZES
WILL BE AWARDED.  For information about the kids and their wagons

10:00 A.M. - Vendor and craft booths open and FREE entertainment
begins.   

Entertainment will feature the CHEROKEE NATIONAL YOUTH CHOIR
and will also include country and western, bluegrass and gospel music.

See demonstrations of sorghum making, apple butter and lye soap
making, butter churning and other craft demonstrations.  There will also
be old fashioned hand cranked ice cream making demonstrations with
free tasting.

Historical skits, lectures and dancing provided by Washington County
Historical Society.  They will also have genealogical information
available.  The Cane Hill College Museum will be open both days during
the hours of the festival.

Get an authentic festival commemorative cancellation stamp from the
Old Post Office in the museum.

SATURDAY ONLY:  Dutch Oven Cook-Off 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Learn
how to do Dutch oven cooking.  Contest judging will be at 2 p.m.  
Following judging there will be FREE tasting of the finished dishes
(donations appreciated).  Tasting will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Stagecoach rides will be available (fee applies)         

CHILDREN'S AREA NEW THIS YEAR
Will feature a pie eating contest (SUNDAY ONLY), look for money in a
haystack,  Weather program by Garrett Lewis (SATURDAY ONLY), sack
races, pony rides (fee applies) and many other activities.

QUILT SHOW both days inside the college building.

Antique car and tractor shows.

Lunch from 10:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. Featuring homemade sandwiches
and cobblers to benefit the Cane Hill College Building Maintenance Fund.
